Grilled Cheese Day

 

We celebrated what would have been the first day of camp - with grilled cheese.  Traditionally the first day of camp is kicked off with all you can eat grilled cheeses.  I did my best!

Week #1 at the Lake - Gooma & Pa Edition

Without the daily practice of blogging, it has been hard to find time to actually post - but I love having it recorded here!  

Here is the first week at our rental lake house in New Hampshire.  We renting this amazing 4 bedroom house in Laconia on Lake Opechee.  It is definitely the one of the best rental houses we have been in!  It is right on the lake, with a beautiful deck, a huge master bath and room for everyone!  

We arrived Saturday night with enough energy and time to unload and get settled.  We spent most of the first day celebrating Jerald (Happy Father's Day) getting settled and having fun!  

We made a daily schedule (based on camp) to balance out screen time, exercise and other fun - while also allowing Jerald and I to do some work!  It worked pretty well - and cut down on the "can I have screentime/snack?"

The week was just wonderful with Gooma and Pa here!  It was beyond amazing to hug them, laugh and spend real in-person time together.  They both finally understood the beauty of lake life!  They loved the calm of the water.  They both swam, and boated (although getting out of the boats was another thing!).  Pa found a new found love of Corn Hole and Grandma gave Missy all her love.  

It was extra sad to say goodbye this time, not knowing when we will be able to see them.  For now, we cherish this special time we had together!!!!
