Playdate with Fran and Noah

Seth had a very social day today. After his nap, his friend Noah and his Grandma Fran came over to play. Fran and Seth's Grandma first met each other when Noah's Dad, Mikey (yes you are still Mikey to me!) and I were in a New Mom's Group together when we were first born. It was really cute to see the two boys and their Grandma's playing together.

New Addition to the Family

Today at 1:45 pm Jerald's sister Naomi gave birth to her first child - 6 lbs 2 oz - and it is a girl!!! We do not know the name yet or have any pictures - but we cannot wait to meet her. Mazel Tov to Naomi and Jason. We know they will be fantastic parents. Mazel Tov to Nana on the birth of her second grandchild!

And yea to us - for the first time... Seth is now a cousin, Jerald is now an Uncle, and I am an Aunt!

Playdate with Stef and Jake!

Stefanie and I met when we were in Nursery School - and today her son Jake (27 months) and Seth (21 months) had a playdate. My Mom just kept saying she couldn't believe we were all old enough for this!

It was really great having them over. Watching them tear apart the house and enjoying lunch together. Thanks for coming of Stef and Jake!!!

On Long Island

Seth and I drove down to Gra and Pa's house today. Pa even came home from work early to spend time with Seth. We all had a great day - but we don't have any pictures of Pa for some reason.

Doesn't Seth look like such a big boy at the table???

Snuggly with Daddy

Yes, Seth still sleeps in his "sack." He wiggles around too much at night to stay under a blanket - and it is cold in Boston. He also really likes it.

First Snowman!!!

Today, with Nana's help, Seth built his very first snowman. I wasn't there - but I could tell that he had a blast!

Seth and Nana also had fun inside...

Thanks to Nana for always being there for all of us!!! We love you!!!

Beads

At playgroup today, Mae shared her beads with the group. Seth was entertained for more than 30 minutes at playgroup - and the fun hasn't stopped yet!

Lightening Bugs

We started a new class a couple of weeks ago called "Lightening Bugs." Today we played with the parachute and Seth loved the ball pit!

Playing in the House

It was so cold today that we all decided to play around the house today. But not to worry - we found many things to amuse Seth and ourselves....

Gra & Pa Visit

We had another great visit from Gra and Pa (as Seth calls his Grandma and Grandpa).

Jerald had the great idea to go to the Zoo which is 5 minutes from our house. We walked around a bit outside - but mostly stuck to the inside exhibits where we saw birds, snakes and gorillas. Everyone had a great time.
Then we all went to a yummy Japanese dinner. Seth loves Japanese food - he ate edamame, rice, miso soup and vegetable tempora!

Cleaning up after Playgroup

We hosted today and Seth was so excited to help clean up with the Dustbuster. As soon as Seth's friends heard the noise they came running to watch.

Courtside

We went to an auction this fall and decided we needed to bid on something. After some deliberation, we decided we'd go for what we thought were pretty good tickets to a Celtics game. We didn't realize at the time quite how good the tickets were - center court, 3rd row! The game was great, with the Celtics shooting poorly in the first half and falling behind before turning it on in the second half and eventually winning by 10. I'll be amazed if we get tickets that good again in the next decade, but can't wait to take Seth to a game at the Garden or Fenway soon (maybe this summer?).

(self-taken)

Lauren managed to catch this great shot mid-game. Watching KG play in person really shows you all you need to know about why the Celtics are doing so well this year. He didn't have the best stat line, didn't make a lot of big shots, but his defensive presence is unreal and he pushes everyone on the floor when he's out there - it's just a different intensity level when he's in the game.

Tunnels

This is a really long tunnel we bought from Ikea - Jerald always thinks of new and fun ways for Seth to enjoy his toys!

Where?

This is the beginning to Seth's new favorite question "Where ____?" He will ask "Where Dad?" and shrug his shoulders and keep asking the question until we find Dad or he gets a sufficient answer. His most common questions.... "Where - Dad, Mom, juice, cuddly, shoes, hat?"

Visit to Great-Gram's House

We went to Great Gram's (Jerald's Grandma) house for a quick visit today. Great Gram moved to West Hartford (where Jerald grew up) last year after decades living in northern New Jersey (although if you ask her, she'd say New York). We were only there for a few hours, but we got wonderful visits from some family friends, Seth Great Aunt Helen and Great Uncle Les, and Jerald's cousin Daniel with one of his (four) sons, Yitzi. Here's a picture of Great Gram playing with two of her eight great-grandchildren:

Most of all, it was great having some time to hang out with Great Gram in a somewhat smaller crowd and being able to see her wonderful place and all the work she's put into it. Thank you for having us! We're so glad you live close enough for day trips now!

I too

Seth has been working on saying "I love you." It is the cutest thing. His new way of expressing this is to say "I too." Which means, "I love you too." This morning he just looked at us - with no prompting and said "I too." It doesn't get any better than that!

Introducing.....

Benjamin Moses born on January 9th weighing 6 lbs 13 oz. His parents, our very very good friends, Rebecca and Danny are doing great and are enjoying the new addition to their family. We can't wait to meet him! Rebecca is one of my oldest friends. We met on the bus to day camp when I was 5 and she was 4 years old. I can't believe she is a Mom! We are so happy for them!

Our big boy

Seth and I enjoyed a quick snack today, before his new class Lightning Bugs. It struck me how old he looked. I often ask "where did my baby go?" He is such a big boy!

Igloo

Seth and Nana had fun playing in Seth's new tent.

60 degrees!

We got out of the house this morning to enjoy the beautiful weather by going to the zoo. Seth and his friend Dylan really seemed to enjoy the animals and also being outside.
