Justin on the Potty

For a couple of weeks Justin lets us know when he wants to use the potty - usually he makes a little pee pee and is very proud of himself.  We are not pushing this by any means (we have enough going on!).  But how cute is he???

Touch-a-truck

We had a really nice but short visit with Grandma and Pa.  They finally got to see our new house - which is in progress of being fixed up for our upcoming move.  On Sunday we went to this fun event where all of these trucks were there for the kids (and adults) to climb aboard and press every button.  Seth somehow found the siren every time!  Love you Grandma and Pa!!!

Sukkot

We had such a nice time visiting different sukkah's and eating a lot of yummy food.  Here we just finished having a snack in Nana's sukkah with Great-Gram.  Such fun!!!

Let the work begin...

The dumpster at our new house. Work has been underway for one week. I am impressed with how much they have gotten done - patching the walls for painting, sanding the floors, ripping up carpet, removing a shower door, removing a door to the basement, removing walls of a closet, removing the mantel. Lots more to do - but we are getting excited!

Daddy at Seth's School

Because Rosh Hashana happened before the start of school, Seth's teachers asked if any parents wanted to come and blow the shofar during the first week. Jerald accepted and Seth was really excited about showing off the shofar (and Jerald). Jerald told the class about how he made the shofar when he was in school and the class got a kick out of hearing it, feeling it, and comparing it to other shofars they'd seen. Jerald was also really glad he got to see Seth's class and spend some time there. A good time had by all.

Justin's first day of "school"

Justin, being born in November, misses the cutoff to begin at Seth's school this fall. Unfortunately, they do not start kids mid-year - so Justin will have to wait until next fall to start there. In the meantime Justin and I have filled our weeks. Monday = music class / Tuesday = gym class / Wednesday = Nana morning (THANKS NANA WE LOVE YOU!!!) - while I teach / Thursday = Mama and Me / Friday = free.

So thursday Justin is doing a three-hour drop-off program. It functions just like a pre-school class but only runs in 10 week sessions. So if it doesn't work out, we are not stuck forever. I was really nervous for his first day. There is no ramp up period - you stay until you feel comfortable and then let them go for the whole time. If there is a problem they will call your cell.

We started off with a new Red Sox backpack. When we got there - Justin ran right over to this bus toy. I stayed for about 30 minutes and he was doing really well, so the teachers and I decided I should go. He cried for about five minutes and then never again. He did great! The teachers said he was engaged in the activities and had fun. When I picked him up he ran right over to me and said "snack!" Apparently the snack of apples and cheez-its (which Seth picked out for him) was his favorite part. Let's hope things stay this good!

Justin at Music Class

Seth's First Day of School - 2010

Here is Seth working the camera for his first day of school. This year (his last year before kindergarten!!!) Seth is in the oldest class in school - Gamalim (the camel class). Seth was maybe a tiny bit nervous before the first day - but mostly excited.

Seth went right into the room and began exploring and meeting his teachers. Justin also had a great time. The only tears on the first day were from Justin. He really wanted to stay and play and hated leaving his brother. So sad!

Thanks to Nana for helping us with this weird first week schedule!!!

Rosh Ha'shanah - Happy New Year

As we entered the Jewish New Year, it was time to travel to Nana's for a fun-filled four days with 13 people under one roof (or 13 and a half depending on how you count). As you can see, the boys had a blast from the first meal and really enjoyed playing with their cousins. The couch below seemed to be the favorite spot from which to cause mischief.

Seth, Becca and Justin all shared a room. We were worried about their ability to all go to sleep in there, but after some evening struggles, they all slept through the night and had a lot of fun talking and reading books together.

As always, thank you so much to Nana for hosting the entire family and making the holiday so wonderful. The meals were delicious and the company was great. We know how much work it was to put everything together for so many people! We love you.

Sukkah Building at Nana's

Seth and Jerald went to Nana's house today to help get ready for Sukkot. Yes we know that we still have Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur before we get to Sukkot - but with everyone's busy schedule they wanted to get a head start. It looks like it will be a great Sukkah - we cannot wait!

Lawyer playdate

We had a wonderful morning visiting our friends Sharon, Chris and their little girl Vivienne at their new house (only 5 minutes from our new house!). Jerald and Sharon use to work together and we were so happy to spend the morning with them.

Company Outing

The legal department of Jerald's company had a big outing this evening for everyone's family. They had it at Kimball farm. It was very hot but a lot of fun. Here is Seth and Jerald on bumper boats!
We then played mini-golf - Justin's first time! As you can imagine, Justin was happy to do anything that involved a ball.

We had a yummy bbq dinner, the boys then played more golf and we had ice cream for dessert. It was getting late so Justin and I headed home. Seth and Jerald stayed and played in the arcade and did the bumper boats again. It was a lot of fun - and great getting to see Jerald's wonderful co-workers.
