Happy 8th Birthday Seth!!!

I cannot believe our baby boy is 8 years old!  Seth you are such a kind, loving, energetic, creative, sweet, and fun boy.  We love how hard you have worked at school this year.  You have matured so much in this past year as you try to find your way in the world.  You love playing with your family and your friends.  You enjoy reading, listening to recorded cds, building lego sets on your own!, and playing games.  We love every part of you and are so lucky to call you our son.  Happy Birthday Seth!

Seth's 8th Birthday Party - blackout!

Seth's birthday theme this year was Diary of the Wimpy Kid - Seth's favorite book series.  He has read these books over and over again.  We had a self serve candy buffet, popcorn and we planned to watch the first Diary of the Wimpy Kid movie.  Our biggest problem….  we lost power two hours before the party.  We kept a good attitude and did our best.  I went to a friend's house to download the movie on my laptop - Jerald grabbed all the flashlights and candles in the house.  In the end - we had a great time!  We finished the party with a glow stick party!  The power came on 30 minutes after the last guest left!

Boston Marathon 2014

It is hard to imagine that it was already one year ago.  I remember what a wonderful morning we had watching the elite runners going by.  I remember playing on the playground with my three boys and their friends and getting a frantic phone call from Jerald telling us to come home.  I remember having to explain to Seth what happened so he wouldn't overhear it at school and feel scared.  I remember being in lockdown at hour house for an entire day.  I remember keeping my iPhone in my pocket tuned to the news with my headphones on to keep informed and not scare the kids.

Boston is strong and we remember but move forward.

Passover in Boston

After a stop in West Hartford, it was back to Nana's for the 2nd seder.  We had a great seder packed with lots of questions, debates, and of course a lot of singing kids.  It's amazing to watch how the seder changes as the kids grow and have more to contribute.

There was lots of hanging out in the days that followed also, at Nana's and at our house for Shabbat dinner and lunch, with a marathon soccer-tag game outside.

Thanks to Nana for hosting delicious and wonderful Passover meals.  It was great hanging out with all the cousins, aunts, uncles, Nana and Great-Gram over the week!

Pre-school passover preparation

Nana and I were so happy to spend the morning with Justin and Ezra helping them finish all of their passover crafts.  It is amazing how happy and confident they both are in their classrooms.  It is wonderful to see!
