Just the 4 of us

After tons of family staying with us, visiting and helping us around the clock - we are just the four of us - for a little while. First, we want to thank Grandma for helping us during the first week at home. She was wonderful! She took care of Seth, Justin, cooked, cleaned, did laundry and tried to make sure I was taking care of myself. Thank you so much!!! Pa and Uncle Joshy were also big helps. Pa changed an occasional diaper - but mostly they were never ending entertainment for Seth. Thank you! More help is on the way - Nana is coming to stay later in the week. But for now - we are enjoying life as a family of four!!!

Grandma's Birthday

Grandma had an extra special birthday present this year - the birth of her second grandchild! Because we "timed it right" Grandma was able to celebrate her birthday with her family.

We all went out to a special birthday dinner.

Justin, of course, slept through his first restaurant experience. He seems content thought...

I was able to run out and buy this yummy cake from our favorite bakery. In the car on the way to dinner, Seth asked if we got Grandma an Elmo cake (that was the cake he had for his second birthday). We told him that we got Grandma a chocolate cake - but not to tell her because it was a secret. For all of those of you with secrets out there - do not tell Seth! As soon as we saw Grandma at the restaurant Seth spilled the beans about the cake. It was really very funny.

Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you very much and were so happy to spend your special day with you.

Shabbat

Justin's first Shabbat at home was really wonderful. We were able to share it with Grandma, Pa, Uncle Joshy, Great-Grandma and Great-Pa.

Justin slept through most of it - but Seth enjoyed it - especially the wine!

Justin Martin!!!

Today was the bris. We were very blessed to have so many family and friends make time during the busy holiday break to come and celebrate our baby's introduction to the Jewish community. We named him ~ Justin Martin. Justin, after my Great-Grandmother Jeanne and Martin, after Jerald's Grandpa Martin. It was a very special ceremony - Justin was a trooper and handled it all very well. Seth did great as all - he seemed the happiest when he was eating bagels and opening presents!. Thanks to Nana, Grandma & Pa for hosting and having the party catered - and for being wonderful grandparents!!! Once again, it was so special to have so many generations of our family together to welcome the newest addition! Thank you!!!

Thanksgiving

What a wonderful Thanksgiving! Because of our new little guys early arrival we were able to celebrate the holiday with so many members of our family. Thanks to Nana for hosting and cooking a yummy turkey! Thanks to everyone for coming from near and far to celebrate with us. It was truly very special. As you can see - we have so much to be thankful for!!!

Visitors

We enjoyed having a lot of wonderful and special visitors today to meet the newest member of our family... ~ Great-Gram ~

~ Uncle Josh ~

~ Aunt Sara ~

~ Uncle Joshy ~

~ Pa came back!!! We put him right to work...

He gave Seth a bath - but clearly got the boys towels confused. I was napping at the time - but Jerald could not stop laughing about this one!

Pa was also taking care of the baby - as you can see they both took a nap!

First Sponge Bath

Jerald was the brave one who totally took charge of the first sponge bath. I took the pictures! He only cried near the end when he was wet and cold - but calmed down pretty quickly. So far he seems like a mellow guy.

Seth was pretty unfazed by the crying and busied himself in the corner reading books!

All clean! Great work Daddy!!!
