Playdate with Becca

I made it home just in time for Naomi and Becca to come over for our playdate. Seth was really sweet with his cousin - offering some of his snack and his toys.

New York Bar

Today I finally did it - after almost 5 years, today I was sworn into the New York Bar! Jerald and I took the NY Bar exam at the same time we took the Massachusetts Bar, during the summer of 2003 (2 weeks before our wedding!). We passed both, but since we were not working in New York and the references and other material they require were numerous - we decided to hold off. Right before the three year deadline to get admitted came and went - I got most of my paperwork in to stop the clock from running.

Due to scheduling conflicts and trying to get the right paperwork from Massachusetts to New York - it took until today for all the stars to align and for me to get admitted. Now all you New Yorkers out there - don't get too excited - we have no plans to move. I did it for my Dad and my Grandma - both who were very insistent on me getting sworn in. (I am sure they have their own reasons). But both, along with my Mom and my Grandpa, were so instrumental in me getting through law school and the bar, both financially and otherwise, I had to do it for them.

And a big thank you to Jerald, who took the day off from work today so I could leave Boston at 5am - drive to Albany, have a 6 minute interview, take a 20 second oath, grab my certificate, and drive three hours back to Boston (with one stop at the outlet malls). Thanks Jerald - you are the best!

Haircut and Lunch

Today Sarita and I took Seth and Ronak to get haircuts. They were both badly in need of them.
Seth sat in the chair very calmly eating animal crackers, watching cartoons and waiting patiently for the haircut to be over so he could get a lolipop.
After the haircuts - the four of us went out to lunch. The boys had pizza - which, ever since we had a pizza delivered to our house last week Seth calls "pizza man." Seth and Ronak kept passing each other bread sticks and crayons and laughing at their own private jokes.

Family Visit at Nana's House

Today, after playing in the snow at home, we went to Nana's house because Great-Gram was in town visiting. Seth showed Great-Gram all of his favorite toys and places to play at Nana's house. Then we all had lunch together. Great-Gram was very impressed at what a good eater Seth is.

We also got to see Uncle Jono and Uncle Josh before we rushed home for Seth's nap. It was great having some family time - and wonderful spending time with Great-Gram!

Snack Time

It doesn't show from the picture, but Seth thought it was so funny to sit in the pantry as he stole snacks.

Play It Again - Seth

Seth has been all about the alphabet for some time. His new trick - whenever he sits down at a piano - he bangs on the keys and sings the ABC's! I have not caught it on video yet but it is too cute for words.

Obsticle Course

Looking for fun things to do around the house today - because Jerald had the day off from work - we created this obsticle course. We got Seth to go through it twice - but he was most happy reading in the tent with his Dad.

I got 2 dozen beautiful roses from my sweet, romantic and wonderful husband - and the delivery boy is pretty great too!

Three Kids!

Today Sarita and I helped out while Joshua's Mom went for her first ultrasound! Three kids + 2 moms = big mess but a lot of fun!

Rebecca Joelle

Today was the baby naming for our neice ~ Rebecca Joelle. Naomi and Jason put together a beautiful little ceremony blessing their daughter and introducing her to everyone. We feel so lucky to have been a part of it!

Seth was so great during everything. We came early so he could nap there. He napped for almost two hours - during the set up, everyone's arrival and the ceremony. He woke up just in time for the food! And he was a big help during clean up.

Letters

Once Jerald had successfully taught Seth how to count to 10, he moved onto letters. Recently, I have been realizing how many he knows. He points to a letter, says the letter, then says a favorite word the letter starts with. Some good examples...

M - Mom
D - Dad
N - Nana
G - Gra
P - Pa
S - Seth

Naked Reading

Seth has been really into books lately. He still has his favorite books - but we are starting to explore all of the paper books he has. It is really fun to watch him get excited when we get to one of his favorite parts or when he can recite what words are coming up. And these pictures are just too cute in my opinion. And we LOVE the new rug in Seth's room. Thanks to the help from our downstairs neighbor Erin. Erin helped us pick out rugs, and window treatments, and pillows - things that I do not have the eye for. We are so happy with the way everything turned out. Thanks Erin!

Visiting ???

Today Seth and I went to visit Aunt Naomi and her baby girl at their house. Mom and baby are doing great! We still don't know her name - but we do know that she is adorable!!! Look at her snuggled on her Mom wearing the hat and blanket that her Aunt Lauren knit her.

Seth seemed to be much more adjusted to the new baby. It is a process :-) I know each time we see her he will become more and more comfortable with the idea that there is a new baby around.

Finally Playing Together

The video is a little long - but it gives an idea of how Seth and Ronak are finally playing together. We are not exactly sure what they are doing most of the time - but they are always laughing together and making us laugh in turn.

Superbowl

So.... it was a rough night for us Patriot fans. We did manage to have some fun. Seth and I were decked out in our matching Tom Brady jerseys. We made some yummy food and had Uncle Josh, Aunt Sara and our good friend Dave over.

But the look on Seth's face says it all. Don't worry - we will survive and fight another day!

Meeting our niece/cousin

Today we all got to go to the hospital to meet our niece and Seth's cousin. She is beautiful! Such little feet and hands - you forget how little they start out as. Jason, Naomi and the little one are all doing wonderfully and will be going home from the hospital on Monday. They have not told us her name yet because they are torturing us :-) and waiting until next Sunday at her baby naming to announce it to everyone. Any guesses? Here is Nana with her second grandchild!!!

Seth was not too sure what to think of Nana, Mom and Dad holding this new baby. By the end of our visit he was getting used to her and even gave her one of his cheese doodles. Eventually they will be great friends.

Meeting Benjamin

Yesterday, I finally got to meet Rebecca and Danny's baby Benjamin. While Seth had a playdate with Gra and Noah, I spent the whole afternoon with the happy family. Benjamin is adorable. And Danny and Rebecca are so happy. Today, both Seth and I went for a visit. Seth was really gentle with Ben, it was really cute. All in all - it was so wonderful to spend time with them!

This is a picture of the blanket I knit for Benjamin. He seems to be enjoying it...
