On Uncle Joshy's Shoulders

There are so many fantastic pictures from our trip to New York last week that we have yet to post on the blog. We are going to take the next couple of days to post some of these wonderful pictures taken by Seth's Grandpa.

17 pounds 2 ounces

We went to the doctor yesterday for Seth's flu shot and he now weighs 17 pounds 2 ounces. We can barely remember the little peanut when he was born at 6 pounds 14 ounces!

One funny thing: Seth has been discovering how neat his hands are. Over the past week we have found Seth just looking at his hands. He looks at them from all sides and slowly moves his fingers around. It is really amazing to watch. This morning Seth was looking at his right hand. He bent his fingers and then just started laughing. Too cute!

First Cheerios!

"What are these little circles on my tray?"

"Hmmm, I can put them in my mouth and Mom and Dad wont run over and grab them away from me. Very interesting!"

Happy Birthday Grandma

We wish Seth's Grandma a very, very, very happy birthday (we jumped the gun earlier in the week)! We are sorry we can't be there to celebrate but it was wonderful spending the holiday with you.
love,
Lauren, Jerald and Seth

Visit with Great Grandma

Even though we were unable to spend the holiday with Jerald's family we were able to get a short but great visit in with one of Seth's Great Grandmas. Look how fun!!!

7 Months Old

In the past month Seth has improved his sitting immensely. He rarely falls over! He also has taken a real interest in playing with his toys. He spends a lot of the day smiling and laughing at the silly things his parents do.

Herricks High School - Class of 96'

From Lauren:Since we were in NY for thanksgiving we were able to go to my 10 year high school reunion. What an insane but great experience. We had dinner with my three best friends from high school, Yael, Rebecca and Debbie and their husbands. We all still keep in touch - but it has been forever since we have all been together.

Then we headed to the reunion. I was so surprised at how many people showed up. I would guess somewhere around 100 people. It was weird to see people that I have known from elementary school but haven't seen or heard from since graduation. At times the night was very overwhelming and I found myself racking my brain for a name to put to the sometimes very different looking face in front of me. There were other people who looked exactly like they did in 1996.

Overall I am really glad we went to the reunion. It was nice being around people who I grew up with and to see how they turned out. I am already looking forward to 2011 for our 15 year reunion!

Beer Pong

It has become a strange kind of thanksgiving tradition to play beer pong on thanksgiving (or wine pong for Seth's Grandma). Although we were not organized enough this year to have brackets and a clear winner, Team Ivy league of Jerald and Wilson made a very strong showing. Since Wilson (Lauren's cousin) is the only currently in college he was of course, undefeated.

Turkey

Thanksgiving was absolutely wonderful! Seth enjoyed his Grandma's cooking by having his first bites of turkey fed to him by his Grandpa. Seth's Grandpa's new favorite pastime is feeding Seth.

Happy Thanksgiving

Sorry that we haven't posted in a while. On tuesday we packed up and headed down to New York to spend thanksgiving with Seth's Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Great Grandma and Uncle Joshy. See how excited Seth is to see his Uncle Joshy.

We have been having a wonderful time in New York. Seth has been having so much fun spending time with the family. He has been loving all of the attention and kisses!

Thanksgiving was wonderful. Seth's Grandma made a delicious feast and it was great seeing Lauren's cousins Catesby and Wilson and her Aunt Lauren and Uncle Kenny. We were able to get this great family picture (unfortunately Seth was napping at the time).

Sitting on the changing table

Seth has been doing such a good job sitting. His new favorite place to sit is on his changing table. It makes changing him a little harder - but he is too cute to care that much!

Date Night!

Last night we had our first "date night" in a long time. Nana came over to babysit (thanks Nana!!!) and we went out on the town. We went out to dinner at The Elephant Walk and then saw Borat. The food was amazing and we had a fantastic bottle of wine. The movie was at some parts VERY funny and at other parts VERY offensive. Overall it was a fantastic night!!!

TNT

When it is getting late in the day and Seth is becoming a little fussy, Lauren has found an interesting way to keep him happy and smiling. . . she cheers! Lauren's deep dark secret is that she was a cheerleader in High School.

Here is a picture of Lauren and one of her best friends Rebecca.

Well, those years of cheering are paying off now. Seth loves the hand clapping and the silly cheers. His favorite is "TNT."

Here it goes....

TNT, TNT, We've got the power of TNT.
All you need is a little - spark to...
blow your mind (clap, clap, clap)
blow your mind.

Getting ready for the big game

Yesterday, Seth got ready for the big game. He put on his jersey (thanks Matt!). And started partying a little too early.
"Hey, where did this come from?"
So he had to lay back and relax.
And he didn't make it until the beginning of the game at 8:30, because his bedtime is 7:30. But it is ok - since the Pats lost!!! But we always support our team!

Spiderman's Friends

Today we had brunch with some Mom's from our first Mom and Baby group. We met these babies when they were 4-6 weeks old - it has been so much fun watching them grow. We decided to whip out the Halloween costumes 1 more time this year. From left to right we have: Tyler the Lobster, Colin the Hot Pepper, Joshua the Cow, of course Seth as Spiderman, and Clyde didn't bring his monkey costume. It was great spending time with the Moms, Dads and babies!
