Great-Gram & Nana Visit

What a wonderful treat! Even though it was a rainy and cloudy day - a visit from Seth's Nana and Great-Gram brightened our day! They drove down from boston to see Seth in his giant sandbox. Seth had a lot of fun playing with them in the sand and showing them all his new tricks. Thanks for a very special visit!!!

Grandpa's Last Day

Much more fun on the beach today with Grandma and Grandpa. Seth even got his toes wet!

Then it was time for Grandpa to take a bus and a train back to NYC so he could go to work. We miss you already Grandpa!!!

Jerald stayed in with Seth and let my Mom and I go out for dinner. It was really special to spend quality time together. We couldn't remember the last time we had dinner just the two of us - if ever. It was really wonderful!

More of Day 2

After the pool - we had more fun on the beach and then we all went out on Main Street to explore and have dinner. Then we had to say goodbye to Uncle Joshy, because he took a very early bus and train back to NYC the next morning to get back to work.

The only day in the water

Our week on the Cape was amazing - but on the cool side. Day 2 was our only day in the water. Seth really enjoyed the pool. We sang "motor boat, motor boat go so slow..." as we dragged him around the pool. He laughed very hard every time!

Our Vacation Begins...

We drove down to the Cape for our big vacation! We realized Jerald hasn't taken a vacation since November. So clearly some rest and relaxation is way overdue. In two short hours we met Seth's Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Joshy for some lunch and then we headed to our place. This is a picture of the back of it. As you can see, we were steps from the beach. Here is Seth and Grandpa heading to Seth's giant sandbox. Seth's two favorite activities on the beach... scoop and pour. He would sit on the beach for an hour straight playing with the sand. What concentration!

Another favorite activity... bubbles!
We were so happy that Seth could spend some time with his Uncle Joshy. We hope to see him more often. Come and visit!!!

We brought dinner in and had a fun night of board games to end day one on the Cape.

Books

Seth is obsessed with books. He says the word and also does the baby sign for "book." It is really great and makes us very happy that he is so into books. So far Jerald and I can recite many of these books by heart. Jerald suggested having a game show - like that new one on NBC "The Spelling Bee." For parents, to go one on one, reciting lines from kids books back and forth until someone messes up. Remember you heard this great idea here first!

Last Week's Zoo Visit

Last Wednesday, our playgroup had an outing to the Zoo. It was a lot of fun and educational. My favorite part was the baby flamingo. Seth's favorite part was the sheep.

Communication

Seth has been doing an amazing job at communicating his wants, likes and dislikes and desires to us. He utilizes various methods to achieve his desired ends.

1. Baby Sign Language ~ he has been using signs for a while now. He very regularly uses "more," "milk," "all done," and "book." The "more" sign is so cute - in the beginning we would always laugh and give him what he wanted. He now uses it constantly so we can control ourselves a little better.

2. Other Movements ~ recently he started shaking his head "yes" and "no." As this is very new - Jerald and I still laugh when he does this. We will try to get it on video soon.

3. Words ~ I think I am going to disable the list of words on the right hand side because it is not an exhaustive list anymore. I am not sure I even know all of his words. His latest addition is "up" which is very useful when he wants to be picked up.

Ball Pit

Today we made our very own ball pit. It was fun for a little while, then Seth wanted to lay his head down.
