Alone time with Mommy!

Now that Seth is not in camp and thanks to Nana (we love you Nana!!!) I get alone time with both my boys. It is such a special treat. Jerald took Justin to Nana's in the morning. Seth and I snuggled in his bed for a half an hour and Seth kept wanting stories from when I was little. It was probably may favorite part of the day. We then went to a local toddler pool and had pancakes for lunch. I then picked up Justin and took him to his Social Butterflies class where he got to play in a ball pit. A really lovely and special day.

Justin's First Bagel

Sorry Grandma - it was not a NY bagel. But Justin really wanted one - so we couldn't wait! He took some time to examine it - but once Jerald cut it in half Justin went to town. He is much more into solid foods - not too interested in anything coming on a spoon.

Cape Cod 2009 - Last Day!!!

Wow - the week really flew by. For our last morning - we packed up and took one last dip in the pool, had one more meal of fried food and ice cream and drove home. We really had such a fantastic time on vacation. Thanks to Grandma and Pa - for an amazing time! The only things I would have changed would have been to have Uncle Joshy stay a bit longer and have Justin sleep a little later in the mornings - otherwise everything was wonderful!!!

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Seven

Another rainy day... Grandma and Pa took Seth to a bookstore for a story time and guess who was there? Curious George!!! Grandma said Seth was a little apprehensive at first but then wiped off his fingers that he sucks - gave George a high five and then a big hug. We then did some kite flying and napped. We had a fun afternoon candle pin bowling. Seth's first time bowling. It was a big hit. Although, I think Seth's favorite part was dancing around the lane in his bowling shoes. We enjoyed our last dinner on vacation and tried to finish up all the ice cream and other junk we accumulated at the house.

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Six

Since Jerald, Justin and I were up at 5:45 and the rest of the house slept until almost 8am - after we put Justin down for a nap Jerald and I snuck away to play some tennis. I wouldn't say we were very good - but we each have some strengths (my serve and Jerald's slices) but we had a lot of fun. I am sure Jerald would want me to include that he beat me 6-4! We then managed to enjoy the pool before the clouds and rain came in around lunch time. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Uncle Joshy. He caught a plane back to NYC today - we are sorry he was here for only a couple of days - but we were sooooo glad he came - we had blast! We then spent the rainy afternoon walking around Chatham. Jerald and I then went out for a lovely romantic dinner. Fingers crossed for some sun for tomorrow!

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Five

The sun has returned! At least Uncle Joshy will get one nice day during his stay on the Cape. We started the morning with Grandma, Pa, Jerald and Seth on the tennis court. Grandma bought Seth a SpongeBob tennis racket. Interestingly, Seth and I have had a long discussion about SpongeBob. S: "Who is this?" Me: "SpongeBob." S: "He looks like cheese." M: "He is a sponge. His name is SpongeBob." S: "He looks like cheese." M: "Ok, we can call him CheeseBob?" S: "I will call him CheezIt." There you have it...

Anyway - Seth used his CheezIt racket once and while Jerald and Grandma were playing tennis Pa entertained Seth with the tennis balls and his endless supply of silliness for Seth.

We then all headed to the pool and after lunch headed to the beach. Seth spent most of his beach time gathering and freeing many tiny hermit crabs. He got everyone to help him at one time or the other. After the beach we had a delicious barbecue at the vacation house.

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Four

I guess the good weather couldn't hold out - not during this rainy summer we are having in Massachusetts. We entertained ourselves though. Jerald and Seth went to a lively puppet show this morning. But the big news of the day was Uncle Joshy's arrival! We were all so happy to have him meet us on vacation. Seth was the most happy to see his Uncle and put him right to work reading stories and playing with him.

We spent the rest of the rainy day walking around Orleans (a nearby town), hanging out in the vacation house and going out to dinner. Oh - and after the boys were sleeping - drinking wine and having fun!

8 Months Old!!!

I have to give credit to Jerald for remembering that Justin would turn 8 months old on our vacation - so we would remember to bring the all important sign.

Another eventful month for our little sweet pea! Justin started waving and clapping this month. When he gets really excited he starts flapping both arms and looks like he might take flight. Justin rarely falls over when he is sitting and has been getting so good at grabbing toys that he wants. Justin also got his first two teeth this month and as become more adept at eating. Justin went to his first class this month (Social Butterflies) and loved every minute of it! And most recently, Justin went in the pool for the first time and played on the beach. What a big month for our little guy!!!

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Three

Another beautiful day on Cape Cod... we started out the day at the beach. It was high tide so it was a little too rocky and deep to go in the water. Daddy, Seth and Grandma had fun skipping rocks and later Pa, Seth and I had fun building a sand castle. Justin had fun dipping his toes in the water with Daddy.

After a little rest we went to check out the Cape Cod Baseball league and the Brewster WhiteCaps. It was really fun to see some good baseball up close - Seth enjoyed it when he woke up from a very overdue nap!

Cape Cod 2009 - Day Two

We took advantage of the beautiful day by getting ready and heading to the pool. This was Justin's first trip in the pool and he loved it! I think he was pretty excited to have his family in the water with him.

Seth had fun with all of us in the pool and all of the fun toys Grandma brought to play with. The big ball Justin has we have named "big eye guy."
Justin also seemed to enjoy laying in the shade after the pool.

After nap time (for Mommy) - Grandma, Pa and Seth went to the beach.

Dinner at a really fun restaurant with a bouncy house and playground for the little kids! Grandma and Pa enjoyed the sunset as Jerald and I put the boys to sleep. Another great day!
