Halloween 2009

Happy Halloween! Of course we had to do matching costumes for the boys - as it is Justin's very first Halloween. Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat! The idea came when Jerald got these t-shirts on a business trip. I then got the idea to knit the blue hair (it is so soft) add some red clothing and we are done! I think they look so cute. Our biggest problem was getting Justin to keep his hair on.

After taking many, many, many pictures inside we met Ronak (aka Tigger) and headed down the main street in our town where the stores give out candy to the kids. What a mob! But we were a big hit. Passersby commented over and over how cute our Thing 1 and Thing 2 were.

We even ran into Joshua (aka Home Depot employee).

Seth's head got hot after awhile - it was the most beautiful day in Boston!

Ronak's Mom Sarita - pregnant with a little girl due in January!

We then headed back to our street where Seth was able to pass out some candy to trick-or-treaters. We visited a few houses on our street and then we were done. Fun, fun day!

Lantern Parade

We had so much fun at last year's lantern parade we decided to make it a tradition. We spent some of the day making a new lantern (I found the one we bought in the basement). It started out as a sun and a moon - but then Seth thought the rays of sun looked like cat whiskers - so it became a cat and a moon. In the end I think it looked like a green monster. I got LED tea lights so we didn't have kids walking around with fire and we were set to go.

We packed a picnic dinner and met a bunch of friends by the pond. We ate as the sun went down. It was beautiful.

The boys costumes are not quite ready so Seth wore his bones pjs and Justin just wore some pjs. We walked around part of the pond - until it was late and we were right near our house. It was really fun and one of those special events that happens in our neighborhood.

Just some other pictures of Seth getting ready for Halloween...

11 Months Old!!!

This has been another really big month for Justin. Justin has really mastered crawling and moves really fast through the house. It is always fun to find him in his new favorite places - under the chairs in the kitchen, standing at the bathtub or at the fridge playing with the magnets. Justin can pull up on almost anything now - the dishwasher, our pant leg, Seth's bed. He always looks so satisfied with his accomplishments! Justin continues to love finger food - he now eats pretty much what the rest of us are eating for meals. He even got his first piece of french toast this month! Justin continued to really enjoy his Moovers & Groovers class - by crawling all over the place, interacting with his friends, and loving the parachute. Justin really makes his wants/needs known - asserting himself in our busy family. The cutest thing he has been doing is during our bedtime routine. We read "Goodnight Moon" every night - when we sit down and turn to the first page to start reading Justin gets this huge smile on his face, flashing his two giant dimples - it is really too cute for words! I am pretty in shock that next month is his big first birthday...

Pulling up

Justin has really mastered the pulling up skill. This morning he pulled up on the play kitchen - which is so impressive because it is not steady at all. He was so proud of himself. His other favorite places to pull up on - the bathtub, Seth's bed, and the couch.

Saturday Evening With Nana

This morning we had our first swimming classes of the season. No pictures, but Justin had fun in the water with Jerald and seemed to take to the water well. Seth was a bit apprehensive about going to a class without either of us, but he was happy to be able to wave to Jerald and Justin across the pool and ended up having a lot of fun.

Then we invited Nana over for a nice evening in. The boys get to see Nana every week, but it was nice having a chance to all hang out together. We had a delicious dinner of london broil on the grill, potatoes and brocooli salad and Nana stayed to help us put the boys to bed. Thanks for coming over Nana.
Seth also continued his foray into photography (maybe he got it from his grandfathers, Pa and Zayde). The angle is unusual, but it's still a pretty good picture:

Really Movin' and Grovin'

Justin is everywhere now. He crawls really fast and is becoming quite good at pulling himself up on things. His favorite two places in the house to pull up on are the bars at the top of our stairs (they're baby proofed - don't worry) and the bathtub. We have been finding him in strange places like under the dinning room table and under the high chairs in the kitchen. It is great that he can move around freely in class. He loves every minute of it!

Day off

We enjoyed the beautiful weather and Jerald's day off from work by eating lunch out at a favorite restaurant (Johnnies) and going to a local park. It is so fun to watch the boys play together. They alternate chasing each other around. Just makes you smile!

Pa comes to Boston

Late last night, Pa took the train to Boston. Seth was so excited to be able to snuggle with Pa this morning!

Justin got an early birthday present from Grandma and Pa (can you believe his first birthday is next month?). A chair to match Seth's!

After some fun at home we all went to the Science Museum. Seth and Justin got to show Grandma and Pa some of their favorite parts.

We will be sad to say goodbye to Grandma and Pa tomorrow - as always, we had a wonderful visit!

Grandma Visits

Grandma has been with us for a couple of days and we are so thrilled to have her! We have done shopping, cooking, cleaning, and lots of playing and of course lots of hugs and kisses!!!

Seth has been having fun using Grandma's camera - he took this picture of Grandma himself (and lots of others of his feet, cuddly and other fun things).
