First Apple Picking!

This is much earlier than we usually go apple picking but our good friends Sarah, Rich and Maya invited us along - so we couldn't resist. This is one of my favorite activities during my favorite time of the year - so I am willing to go apple picking as much as possible. It was interesting because we got to try different apples that usually are long gone by the time we go picking.

Seth took to it right away - picking apples and eating them straight from the trees. Yummy and fun!

Seth and Maya are too cute together - Seth talks about her often!

This is Jerald climbing a tree - we never really grow up - do we?

After we picked more apples than we could use - we headed to the "Hedge Maze."

It was a little harder than we thought it would be...

But we eventually found the end. Sarah, Maya, Seth and I were not interested in trying to retrace our steps out of the Maze. We took the "Emergency Exit" and headed straight for the yummy cider donuts. Rich and Jerald were determined and made it out in only 5 minutes! I am not sure how long it took us to get to the center - 15 or 20 minutes???
It was a great day and we have plans to make Apple Cobbler, Apple Sauce and Apple Chicken. Any other suggestions?

Rebecca, Danny & Ben Visit!!!

Our friends Rebecca, Danny and their son Ben came to Boston this week for a wonderful visit. We had a lot of fun taking them to our favorite places around town. We took a nice walk around the pond near our house and watched the ducks. We went to the Zoo where we enjoyed the Lion and Seth rode this little merry-g0-round. We went to one of our favorite parks, we ate and laughed a lot. It was great having them here for a visit and hope to do it again soon!

Below is Ben picking up some bad habits from his friend Seth!

Video from Weekend at Nana's

Seth "reading" "Brown Bear, Brown Bear"

Weekend with Nana

Seth spent three whole days with Nana as we headed to Iowa for the wedding. Seth was thrilled to be spending so much time with Nana. He loves going to her house. She has saved many toys from Jerald's youth and it probably just seems like one big toy store to Seth! Seth had a fantastic time. On friday they met our playgroup in a park. Over the weekend, they played in the yard (as you can see from the pictures), went to the mall for a family event and had loads of fun! I am not sure Seth missed us at all!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you ~ Nana!!! It is so amazing to have someone who Seth loves, trusts and has so much fun with that we can ALWAYS count on! You are the best and we are so grateful to have you in our lives!!!

Adam & Suzie's Wedding

We had a wonderful time at the wedding. It was such a beautiful location and a wonderful couple! We had so much fun and were so glad we could make the trip to celebrate with everyone.

Iowa!

After many hours, 2 plane rides and 1 celebrity citing (Corky from "Life Goes On" was on our plane!) we made it to Iowa for Adam and Suzie's Wedding. We had it easy - our friends Brian and Ethan took a road trip to the wedding and plotted their progress on their great blog - which I really enjoyed reading.

Once in Iowa, we immediately found some of friends and the fun began. The welcome dinner was held in a minor league baseball park - yummy food and fun surroundings.

Ethan and Ben all smiles at the bar.

Saturday we all headed out to this enormous farmers market right by our hotel in downtown Des Monies. Jerald tasted some of the local wine and then realized Iowa is not wine country but corn country. Jerald then relaxed in the hotel and I got to spend some time with Ivy and Marci walking around, eating lunch and catching up -it was so great to spend time with them!

Cape Cod Vacation - Day #6

Last morning on vacation on the Cape... We went to the beach to finish our art projects, play in the sand, throw rocks and enjoy each other before we packed up for home.

Thanks to Seth's Grandma and Pa for an absolutely wonderful, relaxing and fun vacation! We were sad you couldn't stay longer. Thanks to Shir and Uncle Joshy for being such good playmates! We love you all and can't wait to do it again.

Cape Cod Vacation - Day #5

Today, we spent another beautiful (but cold!) morning at the pool. We couldn't even get Josh and Shir into the pool! But Jerald made some great progress with teaching Seth to swim.

After a yummy lunch prepared by Josh and Shir and a nap we went back to the beach. They were able to successfully fly Seth's new Elmo kite (thanks Shir!!!).

Jerald and Seth spent a lot of time skipping rocks.

And I sat and worked on my "art" project for Grandma and Nana.

Imprints of Seth's feet!

Cape Cod Vacation - Day #4

After another fun morning with Grandma and Pa at the pool - it was time to say goodbye to them. They had to go back home - back to work. We miss you already!!!

In the afternoon the remaining group (Jerald, Seth, Josh, Shir, and Lauren) headed to town and had a lot of fun at the arcade. Seth rode almost all of these quarter rides - he thought they were great.

Seth and I attempted and failed the Dance, Dance Revolution game.

And the boys played Pop-a-shot basketball.
After dinner Seth was so tired he couldn't even keep his head up. How cute is this???
