First trip to the Farm

We had a big family outing to a local farm today. We played in the pumpkin patch, visited some smelly animals and spent a lot of time picking apples. Seth loves being outside so he enjoyed the day!

We were joined by our friends Sara, Doug and baby Noah. It was so great being able to share the day with them. Here are the rest of our pictures from the day.

More Rolling Over Accomplishments!

Seth has been rolling over from his tummy to his back for quite some time now. We think just to get out of tummy time! Seth also has been rolling over from his back to his side for a while. He actually likes to sleep on his side.

Today, Seth rolled over from his back to his front for the first time!!! He was so surprised and scared when it happened that he started hysterical crying. He calmed down pretty quickly and was his smiling self once again.

Smiling at Daddy

Seth now likes to either be sitting up or standing most of the time. Because of the delay with digital cameras, we have a hard time capturing his ever present smile. But he loves smiling at his Dad.

Happy 5 Months!!!

These past 5 months have gone so fast! In the past month, Seth has learned to sleep through the night (Hallelujah!!!), play with his feet, suck on his fingers, give great big belly laughs and actually plays with his toys.

Rosh Hashanah Weekend

We spent a wonderful weekend with Jerald's family. It was so much fun having all of Jerald's siblings and their spouses all in one place to laugh, eat and spend wonderful time together. Thanks to Seth's Nana for cooking amazing food and hosting us all. What a wonderful way to start the new year!

Here is a cute picture of Seth and his Nana.

Here is a picture of Seth in his cute outfit bought by his Grandma for the second day of temple.

New York

We had another great trip to NY to visit Seth's Grandma and Grandpa. Seth had a fantastic time playing with all the new toys that Grandma bought for him. He loved all the play time he had and especially loved all the time in the backyard.

Bouncing on the couch

Jerald discovered how much Seth laughs when he is bounced on the couch. Of course Lauren stole this idea. We will do anything to make Seth smile!

Teleconference

Yesterday, Jerald gave a great speech, with a partner in his firm, about electronic medical records to over 140 listeners. Seth was napping at the time, so Lauren was able to listen in. YEA JERALD!!!

Sleeping

The other day, Seth passed out on the couch and slept there for hours. How cute!

In other news, yesterday was Seth's first semester long class. He is taking a class that is called "Social Butterflies." We sing songs, read books and blow bubbles. But Seth's favorite is the parachute. He laid on the parachute as it was shaken around him and he just laughed and laughed.

Today we took Seth for his first photoshoot. He was a great sport and we got tons of adorable pictures. Now we just have to decide which ones to order as they are not cheap! To see one of our favorites click here.

Cuddly

Here is a picture with Seth's favorite stuffed animal/blanket. Jerald named it "Cuddly" in honor of Lauren's most beloved stuffed puma which still sits on her night stand.

Professor Lauren

From Lauren:

For those of you who don't know I am teaching a legal writing class at our former law school. I am teaching attorneys from other countries getting their LLM in Banking. Well, today was my first class! Nana (aka Jerald's Mom) took care of Seth (THANK YOU!!!) and off I went. It went so fast and there were so many questions about everything - but so far it was great! It was nice to get out of the house for some adult interaction. And they call me "Professor!" How funny is that! But now I am happy to be home with our little guy.

Kisses from Daddy

Seth's new friend ~ Noah Jacob!!!

When Lauren's Mom gave birth to her she joined a Mother's Group and met a wonderful group of women. Over the years the "Playgroup" as it was named, saw each other often. The kids grew up together and celebrated many wonderful occasions together. They were actually all at our wedding three years ago. Well, there is a new member of the second generation of the playgroup. Mikey and Stacey welcomed their son, Noah Jacob, on Saturday. The whole family is doing well and we look forward to meeting Noah when we head down to NY in two weeks.

Who needs sleep?

WE DO!!! This might be an anomaly but we just had to share that last night, Seth slept in his crib from 8:30 pm until 7:00 am!!! And he was not even swaddled. Swaddling is when you wrap the baby in a blanket like a burrito. This initially keeps them from waking themselves up by hitting them in the face since newborns don't understand that their hands are their own and that they can control them. Anyway ~ just wanted to share the good news!

Hanging Around

With all of the lovely toys we have, today Seth seemed most interested in our coffee table!

In other news ~ Seth has begun grabbing his toes a lot and seems very intrigued by them. He also now blows raspberries with his lips and tongue. It is very cute - but is yet another way he can cover us with his bodily fluids!
