NY Bagels

Seth's Grandma came to town to visit for a few days this week. She brought wonderful NY Bagels for Seth's first taste of bagels.

The bagels were a big hit!

But most importantly, Seth and his Mom and Dad had a fantastic time with Grandma. Look how happy Seth is!

8 Months Old!

Seth is 8 months old today. The last month has been very exciting. Seth became entranced by his hands, sometimes just staring at them and laughing. He also began clapping, which has been so much fun. When his Mommy or Daddy walks into a room - we often get a round of applause! Seth also tried Cheerios and had his first bagel (pictures to come).

First Tooth!

As you can tell from these pictures, Seth has been teething. He pretty much tries to put everything in his mouth to chew on it. On Saturday morning we found Seth's first tooth (the bottom center left) poking through.

After Seth's afternoon nap the other day, Lauren went in his room to get him out of bed. And this is what she found...

There is hair... and two eyes...

and a great big smile!

Ball time

Look at how much I love this ball! But I wonder what would happen if I brought it up to the tip of my fingers and... threw it away!

But don't worry - I found a fun block to play with, ok to chew on.

The Water Bottle

Seth saw a water bottle another boy was playing with.
Seth took the water bottle for himself.
Seth was happy.

And Uncle Josh got a lot of laughs.

Happy Hanukkah

Last night was the first night of Hanukkah. We spent a great night with Seth's Nana, Aunt Naomi, Uncle Jason, Uncle Josh, Aunt Sara, and Uncle Jono. Seth seemed very interested by the candles and the singing and of course by the presents!

Ok - maybe he was more interested in eating the presents than playing with them. But still fun anyway.

Playdate with Xander

Seth's good friend Xander came over yesterday for a playdate with his Mom Emily.

We had a lot of fun smiling, clapping hands, blowing bubbles and...

Xander had fun grabbing Seth's foot and Seth had fun laughing because it tickled!

Goodbye Social Butterflies

Yesterday was Seth's last "Social Butterflies" class. Next semester he moves on to "Movers and Groovers."

It was a great last class for Seth. He was smiling, laughing and talking all class long. As you can see, Seth still loves the parachute the best. Hopefully, we will get some more time with the parachute next semester!

Crawling?

Nope, not yet. Seth does tolerate being on his stomach for longer periods of time. But he is not going anywhere until he can get his tush in the air.

Fun with Dad

Seth had a great time over the weekend. He got a lot of good playing time in with Dad. Dad's favorite toy to play with is the stacking cups. Dad stacks them up and Seth knocks them down. When Seth starts stacking them will it then be Dad's job to knock them down?

Winter has arrived

Even though it is getting cold in Boston, that isn't stopping us from getting outside.

Sophie the Giraffe

One of Seth's favorite toys is Sophie the Giraffe. It makes a fun squeaking noise when Seth bangs it on the floor. And of course he loves biting it!

Bubbles

Seth's class, Social Butterflies, always ends with the instructor blowing bubbles. Seth just loves it. So we thought we would try them at home.

He was mesmorized by the bubbles. And at 5:45 pm happily laying on the floor is quite a feat! Yea for bubbles!!!

Clapping

This evening, a few minutes after Jerald came home from work, Seth clapped his hands for the first time! It was very cool. He was totally unprovoked by us. We weren't clapping our hands - we were just being silly - and Seth starting laughing and clapping his hands.

New toy

Seth's new favorite toy is a red plastic cup. We are not sure if he realizes that it holds water, even when it gets dumped on him. Seth just seems to like the color and texture of the cup. Why do we even bother spending money on toys?

Great Grandma & Great Grandpa

One of the best parts of our big trip to New York was spending time with Seth's Great Grandma and Great Grandpa. Seth is so lucky to have so many people in his life who love him!

In the Spring Seth is planning a big trip down to Florida to spend some more time with Great Grandpa and Great Grandma.

In the Tub

Even though Seth's bath in the sink was fun, Jerald tried taking him in the big bathtub.

There was even enough room for Seth to take a swim
