Nana & Grandma

Now that Ezra is one month old, I feel like we are all starting to come out of the newborn fog.  I have been trying to pay bills, return phone calls and write thank you notes.  Well, we are long overdue for the biggest thank you to two VERY important women in our family.  Grandma and Nana.  Words cannot express how lucky we are to have you in our lives.  You both made sure that we made it through this first crazy month with three kids under the age of five.  You made sure we were wearing clean clothes, had food to eat, the big boys got to and from school/activities, and tried to give us as much sleep as you could with a newborn demanding of our attention.  More importantly you made all of us feel loved and cared for during this hard transition.  We cannot thank you enough.  We love you both will all of our hearts!!!  Lauren, Jerald, Seth, Justin and Ezra

1 Month Old!!!

Ezra is one month old today.  The time has gone by really fast.  Ezra has changed a lot since we first brought him home from the hospital.  He has been working really hard at filling out his skin.  At his doctor's appointment last week (so he was closer to three weeks - he was 8 lbs 10 oz  which is the 25th percentile and 22 inches which is the 75th percentile).  Ezra is still working on figuring out what is night and what is day and definitely prefers to sleep in our bed then in his own.  He does seem to nap the best when his big brothers are running around making noise.  Go figure!  Ezra is starting to have more awake time and we are eagerly awaiting his first smiles.

Children's Museum in West Hartford

On our way back to Boston - we stopped in W. Hartford to visit Great-Gram and to give a Nana a ride back home after her visit with Great-Gram.  Jerald had the idea to visit the children's museum he used to go to when he was little.  The boys had a great time and it was wonderful spending some quality time with Great-Gram.  I had never been to this Museum before, but I have a feeling that they haven't done that much since Jerald's last visit :-)

Snowstorm

The East coast was hit by a huge snow storm.  18 inches at my parents house is crazy!!!  Luckily we had no where to go.  Seth was really excited to play in the snow.  Justin lasted only a couple of minutes.  Seth convinced Grandma to play in the snow ~ that is true love!!!  Back inside Pa made a beautiful fire for us to warm up next to.

Dinner in NYC

We took one night on our trip to leave Seth and Justin with Grandma and Pa at their house on Long Island and take Ezra into the city.  We met some of our friends for dinner and had so much fun.  Thanks Brian, Marci, Cary, Ben, Rebecca, Danny and Ivy for coming to see us and to meet Ezra.  We love you!!!

Trip to NY

With time off from work and school we decided to take the new minivan and new baby to NY to visit Grandma and Pa.  As always, it was wonderful spending time with them.

ps - happy 30th birthday Uncle Joshy!!!

Braving the elements

The time was bound to come.  Jerald, Nana, Grandma and friends have all been wonderful getting Seth to and from school and Justin to and from various activities.  But now I need to try this on my own.  Ezra is all suited up for the weather.  I am so happy to have the minivan and our garage to make these trips so much easier.  The first pick-up went fairly well with a little hiccups.  The stroller was not in my car so I had to carry the car seat while holding the other boys hands.  The second pick-up was better.  I had the stroller and while not gracefully, somehow got all the boys in the car with their buckles on.  We started driving home.  I was feeling so accomplished when I realized I left the stroller on the sidewalk.  We rushed back to school and thankfully it was still there.  This will get easier - right?

Happy Birthday Zev

Happy Birthday Zev!!! We cannot believe you are already 1 year old!  What a big boy you are!  We were so happy to be able to celebrate your birthday with you.  Seth asked Uncle Josh what the theme of the party way.  Uncle Josh answered "vegetables."  Which turned out to be true since we had veggie lasagna and carrot cake with beet juice added to the frosting to write Zev's name.  It sounds gross but it was delicious and we all had seconds!  Happy Birthday Zev - we love you!!!

Ezra's First Bath

Ezra's first bath was a big success!  He didn't really cry until it was over and he was out of the warm water getting dressed.  He seemed to love the warm water, attention and of course looking at his cute self in the mirror.  Seth and Justin were big helps - although they didn't make it into any pictures.

Parents Breakfast Song - #2

Parents Breakfast Song - #1

Parents Breakfast

Today was the Parent's breakfast at Seth's school and everyone thought it would be a good idea for both Ezra and I to get out of the house!  Seth was so happy to have us both there - and to introduce his new brother to his teachers and friends.

After breakfast, Seth and his classmates put on a little singing show and then we did an art project.  As always, Seth was so thrilled to be at school and it was really special for me to be there with him.  I love you Seth!!!

Ezra's First Sponge Bath

Dirty baby no more!  At Nana's encouraging we finally got organized enough to give Ezra a sponge bath.  He tolerated pretty well considering he was cold, being photographed and his brothers were helping!  We will see how long it takes us to motivate to a real bath.

The playmate returns!

We have gotten such amazing amount of use out of some of our baby gear.  Near the top of the list has got to be the playmat.
And then we have the classic shot of the baby burrito.  Now only if he would be this peaceful at night!

Bris - Introducing... Ezra Ryan!!!

Today was our little one's big day - his bris.  We named him Ezra Ryan ~ Ezra, because, with the help of G-d, he has joined our family and Ryan, for Jerald's paternal Grandmother Rose.
We held the event at our new house.  It was really special to have all of the boys aunts and uncles and cousins here for the occasion!  Thank you to Great-Gram, Nana,  Grandma, Pa, Uncle Joshy, Uncle Jono, Uncle Josh and Aunt Na for participating in the ceremony.  Thank you to Grandma and Pa for providing the food and the help for the party.  Thank you to all our family and friends who were able to celebrate with us in person today and to all of those who kept us in their thoughts who were not able to make it today.
