Purim Part 3 - Nana's House

The Purim festivities continued - even though we had a pirate who fell asleep in the car. We headed to Nana's for dinner and fun with Aunt Na, Uncle Jason and Becca. It is so cute to see Seth and Justin with their cousin Becca.

We all had a yummy dinner and then after dinner Seth, Becca and Nana put on a little Purim play for us with a dance party at the end. Thanks so much Nana!

Purim Part 2 - Carnival

More Purim fun!!! Seth and Justin turned back into Pirates this morning (the adults returned to our normal non-pirate selves) and we headed back to our temple for the big purim carnival. Seth had so much fun in the bouncy house with a bouncy slide while Justin enjoyed many bags of cheesy dolphin crackers and his first cotton candy!

Thanks for another wonderful visit Grandma and Pa - we love you!

Purim Part 1 - Megillah Reading

The Purim fun begins... Seth has been very into pirates lately (you may have noted the pirate hat in many of Seth's recent pictures) thanks to Pa introducing Seth to Peter Pan. Therefore, Seth had no interest in re-using Thing 1 and Thing 2 from Halloween and so began the pirate family. Luckily, Jerald and I were Pirates many years ago for Halloween before the boys arrived.

Grandma and Pa were such good sports as we dressed them in their pirate garb and came along to hear the story of Purim (Megillah Reading) at our temple.

I was concerned how Justin would handle all the noise at the Megillah Reading. The whole point is to make a lot of noise to drown out the name of the "bad guy" in the story (Haman). At Seth's first Purim - he cried at all the noise and Nana and I had to sit outside with him. Justin was totally fine with the noise. He might have even enjoyed the noise. Justin did have a great time in his Pirate hat and running around our temple.

Here are Seth's friends Maya as a soccer player, Evan as Buzz Lightyear and Pirate Seth.

Grandma Visits

We have had so much fun with Grandma here. Grandma and Justin have got to spend a lot of time playing together while Seth was at school. Grandma and Seth have also had a lot of fun on their adventures... going to Magic Beans, eating ice cream, and going to lunch (different days).

We also have had fun playing in the house...

going make-up shopping... Justin loved the brushes and free samples...

and playing dress-up... now we get ready for Pa's arrival tonight.

Winter Olympics!!!

We love the Olympics. Jerald's favorite winter Olympics event - you guessed it - curling!!! He loves it so much he convinced our very nice and talented friends Sarah and Rich to bake a curling cake to celebrate. They did such a great and delicious job! Look at how much the cake looks like the real curling stone. Thanks so much for having us over and baking the cake. Fun as always!!!

Bagels

We don't know what we were more happy about - the arrival of Grandma or the arrival of bagels. No - we know - the arrival of Grandma!!!

Ethan, Jess and Maddy for Shabbat

We were so happy to have Ethan, Jess and Maddy over for Shabbat dinner. It was so great to catch up and get to see how big Maddy has gotten. She was running all over the house playing with the boys. So much fun!!!

Joint Bath

Justin has graduated to the big bathtub with Seth! For a long time we have been giving the two boys a bath together but with the baby tub in the big tub. They now have more room to move, play and get clean.

Crochet and Sicky Family

Seth wanted a new blanket and I wanted to try out my new crochet skills (so much faster than knitting). So I let Seth go through my stash of yarn and pick out his favorite colors - 10 days later this is what we have. I can't decide if it is ugly or cool looking but Seth loves it and that is all that matters.

Not too many pictures or stories on our end. We are (hopefully) coming out of three weeks of sickness. Justin has had a cold and a fever on and off for a couple of weeks - as well as getting 4 more teeth (he now has 16 at last count!!!). Over the weekend the stomach bug hit our house taking me down first, then Seth and then Jerald. Not sure if Justin had a mild case or missed it totally. All I can say is that it was rough. It is school vacation week for Seth and due to our sicknesses we have had to cancel plans with friends which has been sad. But we are hopefully all on the mend and looking forward to a more healthy and active weekend!

Father's Breakfast

We were worried that the snow might cancel the Parent's Breakfast at Seth's school today - but we ended up only getting a couple of inches. Jerald had a great time at the breakfast. He said it was a lot of fun to see Seth in his element and playing with all of his friends. Above are pictures of Seth and his crew running around. Below are pictures of Seth's class in music. Jerald said this time all of the kids sang - not just Seth. No pictures of Jerald and Seth together but Seth could not stop talking about his big morning with Daddy at school!

The boys are finally big enough to wear the beautiful sweaters knit by their Great-Grandma. They are amazing and the boys loved them! They got so many compliments on them. Thank you so much Great-Grandma they look great and kept the boys warm on this very cold day!!! We love you!!!

Playdough

Justin's first try at play dough. He seemed to like to touch it and the cookie cutters we used with it - but couldn't keep it out of his mouth. Maybe in a couple of more weeks we will try again.

Justin's First Haircut

The time was finally here. The chorus of family members and friends requesting a haircut for Justin was growing by the day. Justin's hair was crazy but I loved it! I finally gave in and took him to snip-its today. Above is the before picture. I put Justin in the chair - buckled him up, handed him an animal cracker and the hairdresser took a half of step towards him and Justin started hysterical crying. I didn't even get a picture. Plan B - I squeezed in the chair and Justin snuggled up on me for the haircut. Harder to take pictures and of course cut hair - but Justin certainly has his own opinions.

Once snuggled on my lap we were able to get the job done.

The curls are still there - we weren't ready to go too short - but at least the hair is out of his eyes and he looks more like a bigger boy.

And he got his first lollipop!

What a cutie pie!!!

Transportation Week at School

Seth and his friend Lev trying out the firetruck they made in class this week - complete with steering wheel, cell phone and seat belts (made out of duct tape).
