NH Vacation - Day #1

After months and months of planning, a whole week of packing, tons of emails coordinating food/travel/and activities ~ we have made it to New Hampshire for our vacation!!!  Nana to celebrate her birthday wanted to take all of her kids and grandkids on a vacation.  So here we are!!!  A big thank you to Nana for the vacation.  We got to the rental house - it is an amazing 10 bedroom three story house - with a game room and a flat screen tv in every room.  Seriously, the guy must have gotten a crazy discount on tvs!  We quickly unloaded and headed straight to storyland.  All the kids warmed up to the fun pretty quickly.  We went through the storybook area and then went to our first show.
It was a show about gardening - and after a little hesitation all the kids seemed to enjoy.
Next were the tractor rides.  What good driving!!!

Somehow, Jerald convinced Justin to go on the roller coaster.  I was worried, since Justin doesn't seem to like rides.  But it went well - no tears.  But Justin only went once and didn't want to do it anymore.  But Seth had a blast and even went on one time by himself!
Jerald and Seth then did the bamboo shoots a couple of times and Seth and I went on the raft ride 3 times.  We were very wet!  Justin went with us the first time, but he wasn't such a fan.  We finished up the day in the ball room.
We headed off to a yummy dinner and then back to the house for shabbat and a lot of playing around and snuggling!  What a successful first day of vacation!

Seth and Ronak had a great season of t-ball.  Seth enjoyed playing and improved through the season.  A huge success!

Justin - is really in the big boy bed

Jerald spent a lot of time taking apart and putting together furniture to get Justin's room just right.  Justin was so happy when he saw it and now he is sleeping in his big boy bed - not just the mattress on the floor.

Justin's First Night in his Big Boy Bed!

A little background first:  We moved to our house seven months ago.  Since the first night we moved in there has been a bed for Justin and his crib.  We had no desere to push to bed since it has the potential to disrupt sleep but we got the bed from a friend and decided to leave it there.  We bought a mattress and sheets shortly after.  It has been ready to sleep in for over six months.  Justin has shown no interest in it.  Until tonight!  As Jerald is finishing up Justin's bedtime routine and he is about to pick Justin up to sleep in his crib - Justin gets in his bed and declares "I sleep here."  Jerald said something like, "don't you want to sleep in your crib?"  Justin repeated, "I sleep here."  So we said - ok.  We had no gate or rail for the bed so we plopped the mattress on the floor and crossed our fingers.

Seth and his new bike

Seth has been making great use of his birthday present from Grandma and Pa (thanks!).  Daddy has taken Seth out a couple of times on his new bike and today was my turn.  He was a little tentative going over big bumps and curbs but I saw him getting better.  Most of all it was great spending alone time with my Sethy!

Ezra's First Food - the video

Ezra's First Food

Today was the day, we finally motivated to give Ezra his first food.  Here we have his very first bite of delicious rice cereal mixed with breast milk.  As you can see from his reaction, he is not a fan.  So we move forward to other exciting combinations.

Seth's Last Day of Preschool - the performances

Seth's Last Day of Preschool

I have to say, I am almost at a loss for words.  Almost...  Today was Seth's last day of preschool.  It has been a wonderful three years of preschool and in particular a fabulous final year.  Seth is an incredible student, playmate, and friend.  It always made Jerald and I so proud to go to his teacher conferences - to hear what amazing growth Seth had been having and how much he is loved by his teachers and friends.  I think it says a lot for Seth and for the school that there was never a day in 3 years where Seth didn't want to go to school.  I think he truly loved every minute of it.  This morning Seth said very seriously, that he wished there was 100 more days of school.  Thank you to all his teachers, friends, and parents for making it such a special three years.  On to 4 months of summer and then Kindergarten
To celebrate the last day, all the parents were invited for an Author's Breakfast.  We got to sit with Seth in his classroom as we read his writings and he described his journal to us.  They then did a very cute musical performance (videos to come).  A very wonderful end to school.
