Cape Cod Vacation - Day #3

We started out at the pool this morning - it was a big hit. Both boys seem more comfortable in the water and love jumping in the pool, being thrown up in the pool and laughing in the pool!

In the afternoon my Uncle Ken and Aunt Lauren came to visit for the afteCheck Spellingrnoon. What a wonderful treat getting to spend some time with them and getting them to see the boys in action! Thanks for the visit!

We even took them to the beach for a quick trip...

Out to dinner with the whole group - Jerald was using all his amazing Daddy skills to keep Justin occupied.

Cape Cod Vacation - Day #2

We all woke up today ready to hit the beach. The tide was out so there was plenty of room to dig and play...

Pa and Justin made many trips with buckets of water...

Seth is laying out bathing in the sun with Uncle Joshy and Shir.

Out at dinner we have to be creative to keep the boys entertained... Grandma's idea - wine!

Cape Cod Vacation - Day #1

After a morning of packing, cleaning, and sitting in some traffic - we arrived on the Cape to find Grandma and Pa already unpacking into our vacation house. We were all so excited to see each other. After getting settled and taking a quick peak at the beach we headed out to dinner where we enjoyed our first ice cream of the vacation. Yummy! After the boys bedtime Uncle Joshy and Shir arrived. We all got to bed early to rest up for the beach and pool tomorrow.

Justin Dancing

Mommy Camp

a.k.a. - my week with both the boys. It was much more successful than our week in June when both boys were sick. We were able to keep ourselves busy with trips to playgrounds, gymnastics, music class, Nana, the science museum, pizza playgroup and lots of playing and snacking in the house!

Julie & Mike's Wedding

We had a wonderful time celebrating Julie and Mike's wedding today! It was a beautiful wedding filled with so much love. Thanks to Nana for babysitting the boys!

Muffin Sunday

I can probably chalk it up to pregnancy nesting - but I have been craving home baked goods. Today marks the second official "Muffin Sunday!" Last week I made fresh whole wheat chocolate chip muffins, which were a big hit! Today I did a whole wheat coffee cake muffin. They were good - but a little overdone. I will try them again.

Grandma Visits

We had a wonderful visit with Grandma! It worked out really well - with Seth in camp in the morning, Grandma got to spend some quality time with Justin - reading books and playing with balls. After this visit Justin really can say "Grandma!" and he chooses to say it often! With Justin napping for three hours most days (I know it is awesome!) Seth and Grandma got their alone time - reading books (Ms. Nelson is Missing was read at least a million times), playing jungle, and snuggling.

As we try to keep our house clean for showings, sometimes we get special breakfasts out on the porch!!! Thanks to Nana for letting her house be a wonderful escape during all of the showings!!!

Baby #3

Today was our big ultrasound. It was our first really good look at baby #3. Everything looked wonderful - just the way it should be! And the big news is... it is a BOY!!! We are three for three with boys - I think we are working on some sort of sports team?!? Seth came with us to the ultrasound (Justin was with Nana - thanks Nana!!!). It was really so special to have Seth there. He was just as excited as we were to see the baby and find out that he was a boy. The day before, we asked Seth if he thought the baby was a boy or a girl - he said both "that way if it is a boy or a girl I will be right!" Later that evening Seth announced at dinner that "Mommy is in charge of all the penises in the whole house!" That is right!!! We are so excited for this third baby boy. All we have to do now is come up with a name...

New in all things Justin

1. We just started a new music class last week - Justin LOVES it. He is singing along with the songs - following the teachers movements with his arms, sticks and egg shakers. It is such a joy to be in the class with him.

2. Justin can count - he has been heard to go "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9!"

3. Justin has had a language explosion - he is regularly putting together two and three word phrases. This morning at breakfast Seth said "My belly hurts." Justin chimes right in saying "My belly hurts." Seth and I couldn't stop laughing.

4. Justin still has strong stranger anxiety - but has been getting better at warming up with people. He now goes to his favorite babysitter at home (Leah) and at the gym (Camille) without tears.

5. Justin has all of his 20 baby teeth in!

6. Justin does not seem to be allergic to peanut butter!!! He had a reaction when he was still breastfeeding so we have been slowly introducing nuts and now he has had two peanut butter sandwiches. YUMMY!

Day at the Beach

We debated going away for the long weekend but decided to stick around Boston and do some of the things we never get to do - like go to the beach. It was so much fun. The boys had fun in the sand and in the water.

Seth's First Day of Camp

Our summer schedule has been busy so far... Seth's school ends really early so he did two weeks at his school camp - which was very similar to school. Last week he was home with Justin and I. But today he started 4 weeks at a camp with a bunch of his friends from school. He is such a big boy - they do pick up and drop off from the car (yea for me!!!). He goes swimming everyday and eats lunch there. The first day seemed to go well. He actually took a nap he was so tired. Yay for summer!!! Now we just need to find a pool for me!

Justin Being Silly

Justin has become a pretty physical and silly little guy. He started jumping last week - but each time he finishes with some strange roll on the floor. His new thing is to do a yoga downward dog but then rest his head on the ground and put both his arms on his back - ouch!

Justin's 18 Month Stats

Weight = 23.6 lbs - 10-25%
Height = 33.5 inches - 75%

Justin has seemed to drop off in his weight a bit. It might be because he was squirming around and screaming his head off on the scale or the fact that he just got over a virus or that we need to increase his yogurt/milk intake. The doctor is not worried - just something to watch. Otherwise, she is very happy with his progress.
