Rehearsal Dinner

We headed down to the Cape this weekend for Matt's wedding (our good friend from law school). Friday night we had the rehearsal dinner. We were a little worried about how Seth would handle the wedding the next day because for the first hour and a half of the rehearsal dinner he cried. But Jerald, in his never ending genius, got Seth to sleep through dinner across his lap. It looks kind of weird - but Seth seemed happy and his parents both got to eat dinner!

3 Months Old!

Seth has changed a lot in his first three months of life. He now smiles a lot, he laughs, is awake a good portion of the day, is starting to play with some toys, puts his hands in his mouth and is sleeping much better at night. And has gotten cuter every day!

Another trip to the pool

where Seth did not actually make it into the pool. He ended up sleeping in Lauren's arms. But he did look very cute in his pool outfit!

Hospital Outfit

It seems that Seth has grown out of his outfit that we brought him home from the hospital in. What do you think? Also he seems to have mellowed out a bit in his first 12 weeks of life!

This was just too cute not to post. Of course Seth will be very mad later in life for this picture - but too bad we are his parents!!!

Seth Found His Hand!

They are no longer these things that randomly hit Seth in the head and wake him up when he sleeps. His hands are now wonderful things to suck and chew on. Oh the joy!

Grandma/Mom Visit

We had a great visit from Grandma (Lauren's Mom). She couldn't believe how big Seth has gotten. She loves him so much she doesn't even mind his constant spit-up. Although, she does call him "The Volcano."

Mommy & Me Group

Today ended Lauren & Seth's first Mommy and Me group. We started when Seth was just six weeks old. He has come such a long way... The night before the first group he slept 4 hours in his car seat on the floor of our bedroom. And we were actually happy with that. Now he sleeps for 5-7 hours in his crib in his own room. And then goes back to sleep for 2-3 more hours. He now smiles and laughs and is awake to play instead of just crying or eating.

The group has been such a wonderful outlet for Lauren. She has met some wonderful Moms & Babies and hope to continue these great relationships for years to come.

Aunt Naomi

We had a great time when Aunt Naomi (Jerald's sister) came over for a visit. How cute is Seth sitting on the couch watching TV???

Anne & Will's Wedding

Today we went to Anne & Will's Wedding. Anne is one of Jerald's good friends from college. It was a beautiful ceremony in the Church at Harvard. And then a reception at the Harvard Club. This was a big outing for us without Seth. We missed the little guy but had fun drinking, dancing, and eating slowly for the first time in months. We usually have to eat so fast to take care of Seth.

As you can see below Seth had a wonderful time hanging out and sleeping on Nana. Nana - thanks for all the baby sitting that you have already done and for all that will occur in the future!!!

Pool Party

Some of Lauren's friends from college came over for a pool party. Vicky & Dana brought the absolute cutest cupcakes (they were yummy too!).




After the pool Vicky, Jill and Seth had a lovely story time.



There are no pictures of Seth in the pool because Lauren dangled his little feet in and he started screaming. Oh well... we still had a great day!

Vicky Visits!!!

One of Lauren's best friends from college, Vicky, came to Boston for the weekend. Vicky got to spend some quality time with Seth. We must say Seth just loved Vicky - she is a natural with babies! Now that Vicky and her husband are living in New Jersey we hope to see them much more often.


When Vicky first was going to hold Seth, Lauren gave her a burp pad. For those of you who have met Seth in person you are well aware of our little Volcano. Seth takes after his father (when he was a baby) in that he spits up all the time. When Vicky saw all the pictures of Seth with everyone having burp clothes on them she thought that we were just overly hygienic ~ nope we are just trying to not change our t-shirts a hundred times a day.

Back up - for now

So our computer is not yet fixed but we felt like we had a mounting mutiny on our hands so we have made provisions to get the blog updated... we have some great pictures from the last couple of weeks so we will back date them to keep it all straight.

Technical Difficulties

Our computer has been broken for the last couple of days. We are working hard to get it running again. So there will be no new pictures for a little while.

Sorry!

But we are all doing well. Seth actually slept in his own room in his crib for the last two nights. What a big boy!!!

Seth's First Seat

New Furniture

We just got Seth's furniture in. Doesn't he look happy already in his new crib? We are still putting his room together and will post pictures when it is complete. We hope Seth will make the big move to his own room in the next couple of weeks.

Katherine & Murray

Today we had a fantastic visit with our friends from law school Katherine and Murray. Seth was happy to meet them and we can't wait to see them in a few short weeks on the cape!

Jerald's Side

11 lbs 14 oz

Today was Seth's 2 month doctors appointment. He now weighs 11 lbs 14 oz (up 5 pounds from when he was born!) and he is 23 1/2 inches long.

Seth, Lauren & Jerald were all very brave as Seth had four shots today! And Nana (Jerald's Mom) was great in helping care for Seth post shots. What a little trooper!

Seeing Double?

At the birthday party yesterday, Seth got to spend time with his second cousin, Elan, who's just a couple of weeks older than him. It was a lot of fun seeing the two of them side-by-side. Everyone kept saying how much they looked alike, but we're confident we took the right one home (frankly, we see a family resembalance, but they're not exactly twins).

Happy Birthday!

Today we all went down to Connecticut to celebrate Jerald's Grandmother's 80th Birthday. It's hard to believe, but with just immediate family we numbered 24! It's really wonderful to know that just one survivor can become the matriarch of such a big family. Here are all the pictures from the day. We had a lot of fun sharing memories and spending time with cousins, aunts, uncles, second cousins, first cousins once removed, etc. Seth spent much of the day with Nana, who doesn't like to let him go, but he doesn't mind because he loves being in her arms:

Pulke

We had never heard the word "pulke" before Seth was born. But since then it is a term we hear all the time. "Pulke" means - the upper thigh or drumstick in Yiddish. People love to grab Seth's thighs and say "look at those pulkes!" We think this picture captures the essence of his pulkes.



And for some reason he looks like a giant baby in this picture. He is not that big. Next week we will find out what he actually weighs.

Happy Father's Day

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!! Today was Jerald's first father's day. The three of us had fun and celebrated by being together. After only 7 weeks - Jerald is already the best Dad!


We're sad that Jerald's father is not here to celebrate with us as a dad and grandfather though. We think about him everyday.

Trip to NY - part 5

And now we come to the last part of our trip to NY. Ivy and Brian came out to visit Seth on Sunday. They got some good quality time and it was great seeing them!!!

Trip to NY - part 3

Lauren's high school friends came out to visit Seth. Unfortunately we do not have pictures of everyone. But we will give a shout out to Ben, Cary and his girlfriend Edna for spending some great time with Seth. Also it was great seeing Lauren's sorority sister Rebecca.

Trip to NY - part 2

Thanks to all of our friends that visited! Cat and Nicole (our friends from law school) were the first to arrive. Nicole relinquished control of Seth only for a quick picture! We can't wait to see the whole law crew at Matt's wedding next month on the Cape!

First Trip to New York - part 1

This weekend Seth had his first trip to NY to visit Grandma & Grandpa (see picture above) and to meet many friends. It was a fantastic weekend. It was WONDERFUL spending time with Grandma and Grandpa. We can safely say that they loved having Seth for the weekend. Jerald and Lauren loved it too as they were able to catch up on some much needed sleep. And of course to spend quality time with Lauren's parents and our NY friends.

Thank you to all the friends and family who made it out to Long Island to meet Seth and visit with the Michaels/Korns. We LOVE you all!

Smiles

Seth began smiling on Saturday. He had been smiling for a couple of weeks in his sleep but now he does it when he is awake! We have been unable to capture this adorable image on film yet ~ but we will keep trying.

An afternoon with Nana

Nana (Jerald's Mom) stopped by the other afternoon, to spend time with her first grandchild and let Lauren nap!
