Not fun firsts

Since Jerald and I were first dating we liked to keep track of our firsts... first date, first trip, etc. And we love to do the same with Seth - keeping track of it on the blog for all of you to enjoy along with us. Well, Sunday early evening, after our fun morning on the beach, we had some not so fun firsts. I will say this very clearly - SETH IS OK!!! As I type this he is peacefully sleeping in his crib after a very fun bath given by his Dad.

Seth fell off his slide in our backyard. So we had our first visit to the Emergency Room, first x-rays, and now he has his first broken bone. Seth broke his right collar bone. He was in pain when it happened but since then we have kept him on a heavy dose of Motrin and Tylenol and has been dealing with it amazingly well. Nothing needs to be done for the bone - it will heal on its own. He doesn't even need to wear a sling or anything. Since then we haven't been going to the playground much - but everything is close to normal. He is eating and sleeping normally. We went to music class yesterday and had lunch with his best pal Ronak just like normal. So there really is no need to worry! We are all doing fine. Just thought we should record it and let the news out for anyone out there who wants to know.

Here is our attempt to take a picture of the bruise where the bone is broken. Not sure if it really comes through in the picture.

And you can clearly see from this picture - Seth is doing just fine!

So sorry to hear about this "first" - glad he is doing okay and he seems pain-free. Poor little guy (and poor mom and dad!)
