Fireplace Dinner

 3 years ago we bought a catered dinner at our temple auction.  We finally cashed in!  The kids slept at Nana's house (thank you!!!!).  We had four other couples over - what a treat to be able to talk to our friends and have an adult night.


 We started with passed hors d'oeures in our living room with wine.





First course was heirloom beets, orange segments, on bib lettuce with parsnip chips.


Second course was salmon cake with dill sauce.  



For the non-meat eaters, the third course was halibut with black lentils and lemon greens.  
Otherwise we had braised short ribs with baby carrots, baby bok choy, and stone ground porridge.



The fourth course was pavlova with a brandy apple sauce, blackberries and toasted hazelnuts.  
Oh - and a candle for me :-)
