Cape Cod 2011 - day #5

This morning, Pa, Jerald, Seth and Justin took off for Mudflat Mania!  Jerald did some research and found a place nearby where some naturalists take you through conservation land to look for animals in the sand and water.  The boys found green crabs, hermit crabs, fiddler crabs, various types of snails, barnacles, fish, and got to touch a horseshoe crab that one of the naturalists found.  Pa and Jerald sort of destroyed their shoes walking through the mud, but based on how much the boys enjoyed it, we'll say it was worth it!

Grandma, Ezra and I stayed home (away from the bugs) to nap and play inside.
Back at the pool during naptime - Jerald and I got some alone time with Seth (when does that ever happen?).

We then headed to a nearby town to buy tshirts and candy - Grandma and Pa even let Jerald and I go out to dinner by ourselves.  It was wonderful to have a date night :-)

Cape Cod 2011 - day #4

We spent the morning at a lake with some of Jerald's friends from high school years.  It was a lot of fun playing in the lake and beach with Dave and Keri (thanks for having us over!), Erica and Mike and Julie and Mike.

Back at the house - during nap time Pa, Jerald and Seth hit the pool.  When Justin woke up he followed.  The boys cannot get enough of the pool!

We then went to our favorite local baseball team - the Brewster Whitecaps.  The boys were not that interested in the game and spent most of their time on the playground or eating ice cream.  But it was fun anyway.

Cape Cod 2011 - day #3

Breakfast and then straight to the pool.  So much fun and laughs!  And even some group pictures.

The plight of a third child - he naps where he can... today it was on my lap at the pool.

After lunch and naps - some tennis time...

Pa then took the two big boys to the beach for some hermit crab catching (sorry no pictures).  A yummy dinner and early to bed.

Cape Cod 2011 - day #2

Day 2 began with breakfast (how cute is Ezi in his highchair?).  Then off to the pool.  We had a lot of new floats and toys for the pool.  Everyone was in the pool for a long while having fun.  Seth is coming along with his swimming.  His new trick is to throw toys at the bottom of the pool and then to get them himself.

After lunch and naps/rest we all headed to the beach.  All the boys loved the water.  Ezra thinks the sand is just one big snack.  I put him in the middle of our blanket.  Within two seconds he had climbed over me to get the sand right in his mouth.  Yuck!

We got cleaned up and had a yummy fried fish dinner with ice cream.  Pa ended the day by reading to the big boys "Robin Hood."  Another great day!

Cape Cod 2011 - day #1

We finally made it to our Cape Cod vacation!  There was a lot of packing, organizing, planning and traffic - but we made it to Brewtser and Grandma and Pa were here waiting for us!  The bad news is that Uncle Joshy and Aunt Shir will not be able to join us this year :-(  We are so sad and miss them already!  Uncle Joshy was not able to get off of work.  But we hope for a visit from them in Boston soon - hint, hint!
We spent the afternoon exploring, unpacking and went to a yummy dinner.  Ezra is here eating his first bagel (thanks Grandma!).  After bedtime, Pa and I went on our annual food shopping trip.  Tomrrow we will head straight for the pool!

Camps...

The 7 week run of Seth's tour of camps has come to an end.  He did 2 weeks at swim camp [the first week went well, but the second week he was not thrilled and while he has improved in the water, is still not swimming].  He did 4 weeks at a regular sports and arts camp [he went last year and had another great summer with some old and new friends].  He just finished 1 week at farm camp.  This was the big hit of the summer.  Everyday he came home dirtier and happier than the day before.  They spent their time planting flowers, feeding chickens, looking at bugs, catching frogs, playing in the pond and much more.  In other news - Seth now loves to shower!  Every day after camp Seth had to take a shower and change his clothes because he was so gross - but happy!

Next up - cape cod and then Mommy Camp [where I have all three boys home with no scheduled activities for almost 5 weeks before school starts up!]

8 Months Old!

Ezra is 8 months old today and he is officially on the move!  The big news of the month is that Ezra has started crawling - he is still doing the army man crawl - although he has been getting his belly off the ground recently.  He is into everything!  As for food - he still dislikes babyfood and much prefers what we are eating... be eat talapia, tofu, beans or even turkey burgers!  He is really coming into his own - really playing with his toys, engaging with his brothers, and enjoying his own class.
