Passover fun at Nana's

The Passover fun continued at Nana's house all through the weekend.  The rest of Jerald's siblings were staying at Nana's house for Passover so the boys had a great time playing with all of their cousins.  It's amazing how big the crew is getting (see below - Nana ran out of room on her lap, so Justin had to "fly" in from behind).  Everyone had a great time playing, relaxing, acting out the story of Passover, and just hanging out for a few days.  Thank you so much to Nana for hosting us all and for all of the food and preparation we know went into it - your work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated and all the boys had so much fun at your house!

Seder #2 - Videos

Seder #2 in Boston

Today we headed back to Boston just in time for the second seder at Nana's house.  We were so happy to be able to have the seder with Nana, Aunt Sara, Uncle Josh, Zev, and Uncle Jono.  Nana cooked up a storm - everything was delicious!  The boys had a great time singing all the songs and telling the passover story that Nana had been working on with them.  The boys got to stay up so late!  By 8:45 Justin said that he wanted to go to bed - but Seth made it to the very end of the seder (and was so proud) and finally went to bed around 11:30!  Thanks to Nana for a wonderful seder - there will be lots more matzah and fun at her house during the week.  We love you!!!

Seder #1 - Videos

Seder #1 in NY

Happy Passover!  We had a wonderful first seder in NY at Grandma and Pa's house.  Grandma did such an amazing job!  Not only did she cook the food (delicious!) she also led the seder (we missed you Great-Pa!  Mom did you proud!) she also had a screaming Justin on her lap for most of the meal.  It was a wonderful way to start the holiday.  We were so happy to share the seder with Uncle Joshy, Aunt Shir and her parents and Susan and Rob.

This is a funny picture of Pa being silly and the boys loving every minute of it!  Thanks for a wonderful visit - we really appreciate all the hard work that goes into having us there.  We love you!!

Kobe's Birthday Party

One of my oldest friends Yael came to NY from Hawaii with her husband and little boy Kobe to spend time with family and see friends.  They threw a 2nd birthday party for Kobe and invited us all (I can't believe I don't have a picture of Kobe to share - sorry!).  It was so much fun getting to see some of my oldest and dearest friends.... Yael, Debbie, Ivy, Rebecca, Brian and Danny.  The playspace for the party was so much fun so everyone had a blast.  A lot of cute pictures below...

Shir's Bridal Shower

We headed down to NY yesterday to enjoy a weekend of fun before the big passover festivities.  Up first - soon-to-be Aunt Shir's Bridal Shower.  What a really wonderful afternoon.  It was full of smiles, hugs, laughs, yummy food and a lot of love!  What a pleasure it was for me to be kid and baby free (thanks Jerald!) for a couple of hours to spend time with Shir and to meet some of her friends and family.  It was also nice to spend time with my family and family friends.  Near the end of the party the boys arrived and got to enjoy dessert with us.  A really fun time all around.  We cannot wait to have Shir an official member of our family.  We love you!

Seth's First T-ball Practice

After much discussion and much anticipation - Seth's first day of t-ball was today.  It was a great success!  If you remember from last spring Seth's soccer experience was kind of up and down.  Jerald has spent a lot of time talking to Seth about baseball and practicing in the backyard so Seth would feel comfortable at practice.  It definitely paid off.  Seth knew what to expect in terms of drills and how the different parts of the game worked.  It also was wonderful to have Ronak on Seth's team.  The two of them could not have looked cuter out on the field together!  Seth was so happy to be there.  He ran right out on the field and listened to the coaches and followed all the directions.  He did a great job at running the bases.  He had a little trouble hitting off the t - I think in part because he is on the taller end of the kids and the t was kind of low.  Our main goal was for him to participate and have fun - mission accomplished!  Next practice Jerald gets to go - both Jerald and Seth are so excited!

In the end Justin was a great spectator and great cheerer for Seth.  He was very sad that he did not get a special t-shirt and he really wanted to go out on the field to play with his big brother.  Soon!

Ezra's Sleep

***Note - probably not interesting for anyone but us - I need to write it down because we forget everything as soon as we are through a particular stage***

Where do we go from here???  We knew that the amazing sleep in our house was temporary.  Temporary because Ezra is sleeping through the night but still sleeping in our room and being swaddled.  Also temporary because Justin is still in his crib.  When any one of those things changes there goes our great sleep!  It seems that Ezra is getting too big for the swaddle and therefore is waking up in the night.  It varies and he can go through the night or wake up 3 times a night.  We made a big switch last week.  Up until then Ezra would fall alseep eating around 7ish but then was awake with us until 9ish when Jerald would have to rock him to sleep for 20+ minutes.  We had enough - so he now is going to sleep by 8 with minimal rocking.  Definitely a move in the right direction.  As for the night waking - we are trying to hold off on sleep-training until after Passover travel.  Hopefully we can make it until then!

Swingset Fun...

I am sure we will have many pictures of all of us on the swingset over the years.  But here are some of the very first.  So fun for us all!  And this was Ezra's very first swing ride.  He seemed to really enjoy it.

Sick Day

All the sick people we know finally caught up with us - and Seth, Justin and Jerald all caught different parts of a cold.  Seth stayed home from school and after checking in at the doctor that he did not have strep we had the rest of the day at home.  We made playdough - and the making and playing with it occupied at least an hour.  Really cute watching them both play so independently.
